Nikki Thrower's Baby Shower!!!

Last week was a great week for me...super duper busy, but lots of fun stuff going on! One of the festivities was Jacey & I hosting a baby shower at my house! I took it upon myself to get all the Christmas decorations out in time for it...this was also good b/c I didn't have time to drag it out over a week! We are so excited for the arrival of little Mariah!! I think, like 28 people showed up!!! Nikki is soo loved by everyone!!!!
The DVD shelf is one place I wanted to 'declutter' before the party!...ridiculous!...and I'm surprised when friends just show up on our door step to borrow movies!!

We love ya Nikki!! Can't wait to put bows and frills on that sweet baby!!

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving at the Osborne's house!! We, the Briscoe's and Osborne's have spent Thanksgiving together a few times in the past, so it was fun to spend it with them all again!! It was extra fun to have the Throwers there as well!! Here are a few pictures. Amy took a bunch more that I'll add ONCE SHE EMAILS THEM TO ME :) hint hint:)...by the way, the girls whooped the guys on Rock Band!! (ha--not nearly...the guys even beat the kids high score!!)

...these are only magnets...there is not a point in her mouth!:)

Happy 9th Brithday JACOB!!!

Good Morning Birthday Boy!!!

Jacob got our traditional Breakfast In Bed this morning!! He got to choose his breakfast...it consisted of M&M's, Cheese Puffs, Peanut Butter Bars & Milk...hope he doesn't get sick off of all that:)

Happy Birthday Jacob!!!! Unfortunately, I can't download any of Jacob's baby pictures (or toddler) b/c we have a Mac Computer and it can't read the disks that I have them on...So, I have been searching and searching for all that we have to post some pictures of Mr. Jacob! The good thing is that I found some, the bad thing (not really bad for scrap booking purposes!!) is that I found a ton of pictures that haven't been journaled yet, so hence, there are about 20 pictures that I'm putting in this post!! So, Sorry about all of the pictures of Jacob, but I wanted them on here for journaling purposes...I found a bunch of Brant too, so In April, you'll get a zillion of him:)...here they go!

At Disney Land, Jacob got sworn in as an official Jedi!! After his 'training', he had to battle against Darth Maul!!
LOve to Dress up!!!!!

Jacob & Grandpa Joyner making silly faces
Before we put our pool/backyard in, obviously, it was all dirt. Jacob's favorite thing was to turn the hose on and make a mud bath!!
Our first camping trip, after moving here, IT SNOWED!!

Jacob's version of playing Golf!
First swim in our pool

CUPCAKES AT SCHOOL
I took our Traditional ICE CREAM CONE CUPCAKES to Jacob's classes...His reg ed as well as his 'old' special needs class. As usual, they were a huge hit with all the kids!!

Jacob's Birthday Dinner
...every year since he could say "LOB!", Jacob has chosen to eat at Red Lobster b/c he LOVES Lobster and Crab legs!! This year he was torn b/t RL and Burger King...BK has Wii toys in their kids meals right now!!! It worked out for the better that he chose BK b/c Rissa has been sick for a couple of days and I don't think she could've held out at the LOB.

The kids took turns taking pictures of Marty & I. they wanted us to make funny faces, so we tried! We all laughed and had a fun dinner.

Congratulations Jacob!!!

Jacob usually is smiling!!! I still love this picture of him, though!!! I will put a picture of Jacob on this post tomorrow :) In the meantime, I want to tell you his good news
Thursday I had an IEP meeting with all of Jacob's teacher's, Speech therapist, Occupational therapist and Principal. (An IEP is an Individualized Plan or program that kinda maps out his Education...services that he has to receive based on his disability and needs, etc.) A/W, I've been inwardly emotional lately b/c of it. This was one of the BIG IEP Meetings!!! You see, JACOB GRADUATED FROM HIS SPECIAL NEEDS, SELF CONTAINED CLASS!!! Today marked his FIRST FULL DAY AS A 100% MAINSTREAMED KID!!!! I'm soo proud of him!!! I feel very emotional about it b/c he has worked sooooo hard to get to where is today!!! From the moment he was diagnosed with Autism (at 19 months!) he has been bombarded with Speech, OT, a little PT, ABA therapy (intense stuff!!!), music therapy...anything we could do to help pull him out of the Autism. Everything had to be taught from the very beginning, ex. he didn't know how to point when he wanted something. We as a family, along with his team of therapist, first taught him how to point to request something and then paired it with sign language. It was hard at the time, but also neat. (I have many memories of tender moments when Brant, at the age of 3, would sit and try to teach Jacob "ball" in sign b/c he wanted to play ball with him.) ...Eventually it was paired with pictures and then sounds and then words. We never knew if he'd be able to be mainstreamed into a regular ed class. We never knew if he'd be able to read or write. AND NOW LOOK AT HIM!!! GREAT JOB JACOB!!!! I do have some pictures that I want to post, but I'll put them in my next post. His Birthday is Monday, so I will do his Birthday tribute with pictures this weekend. I just want to add how thankful I am for all of his church friends, who just love and accept him for who he is!! He loves people and friends and he loves to introduce himself to 'new friends'! He has told me many times how happy is he to have church friends at school, but esp three of them in his class!!! I'm thankful for that. I know there's still so much to learn and a lot to accomplish..but I'm so thrilled at how much he's accomplished already!! I'm so thankful for a loving Father in Heaven, who has opened up so many windows of opportunity to allow Jacob growth moments...I'm grateful for the growth moments that I have received as well!!!
